Joya Davidson has been making music and playing piano since she was four years old—and she has loved every minute of it! A passionate and accomplished advanced pianist, Joya has earned awards in competitions and music festivals and has been sharing her love of music through teaching since 2003.

From 2003 to 2007, she taught at a busy music studio in Naperville, Illinois, where she worked with up to 98 students each week for over five years during her undergraduate studies at North Central College. Through both private and group instruction, she helped students of all ages develop musical skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. Since 2007, Joya has continued teaching through private lessons in her student’s homes, offering personalized instruction that meets each student where they are.

Joya has successfully introduced piano to children as young as three years old and also enjoys working with teens and adults who are discovering—or rediscovering—the joy of making music. She believes every student learns differently and tailors her teaching approach to fit each individual's strengths, interests, and learning style.

In addition to her extensive music background, Joya brings graduate-level counseling coursework and professional experience in behavioral health case management to her teaching. This unique combination allows her to recognize the diverse emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs students bring into the lesson room. She understands that trust, confidence, and encouragement are often just as important as musical technique, and she is passionate about helping students work through challenges while building resilience, self-esteem, and a genuine belief in their own abilities.

Joya is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Education in Instructional Design and Learning Technology at the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, where she maintains a 4.0 GPA. She is expected to graduate in December 2027. Her graduate studies continue to strengthen her expertise in how people learn, enabling her to create engaging, individualized lessons that help every student reach their full potential.

In 2026, Joya relocated from Lodi to the Sauk City, Wisconsin area, where she has embraced the beauty, close-knit community, and peaceful pace of small-town living.

Today, Joya specializes in teaching beginner through intermediate piano students of all ages. Her lessons emphasize strong musical foundations while fostering creativity, curiosity, and confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment. Whether a student dreams of performing on stage or simply wants to enjoy making music at home, Joya's goal is to help each person discover the joy of music while becoming the best musician—and person—they can be.
