About the Teacher…
Joya Davidson has been making music for over 25 years—and she’s loved every minute of it! A passionate and accomplished, advanced pianist, Joya has earned awards in competitions and music festivals, and she’s been sharing her love for the piano through teaching since 2003.
From 2003 to 2007, she taught at a busy music studio in Naperville, Illinois, where she worked with up to 98 students a week—yes, you read that right! Whether in private or group lessons, she helped students of all ages find their rhythm and confidence at the keyboard. Since 2007, Joya has continued teaching in her students’ homes, providing personalized instruction that meets each learner where they are.
She’s successfully started lessons with children as young as three years old and also enjoys working with adults who are discovering (or rediscovering) the joy of playing piano.
From 2001 to 2021, Joya also served as a worship leader at several churches in the Plainfield, Illinois area—singing and playing piano with heart and purpose. In fall of 2021, she and her husband Luke (a fellow musician - a bass player!) made the move to Lodi, Wisconsin, where they’ve happily settled into small-town life.
These days, Joya continues to do what she loves most: helping students grow their musical abilities and confidence from the ground up. She specializes in teaching beginner through intermediate piano students of all ages, and her teaching style is all about encouragement, creativity, and making music fun.
When she’s not teaching, you’ll likely spot her relaxing with Luke at their favorite coffee shop in downtown Lodi!
